What selling on eBay really boils down to is making money. But, more specifically how much is ever single customer worth. By giving a value to your customers it will be much easier to attain your income goals.

So what I want to talk a little about today is how you can maximize the profit you produce from each customer using a simple technique you might not be using.

Firstly you should be selling similar, related items on eBay already. Don’t be the jack of all trades, be the expert in a category.

If it’s shipping supplies, then stick to shipping supplies and related items.

If it’s video games, stick to video games, consoles and related items.

Why? Because, the relationship you have with your customer does NOT end when the auction does or when the package arrives. This is when the relationship begins.

Because someone bought let’s say shipping supplies from you, you can be pretty confident they will…

A) Need more of the same thing in the future
B) Be interested in similar products

So when you ship your product to the customer include a catalog or even just a sheet of paper with other products/services you offer. Also be sure to include your auction name and thank them for their order.

You might be surprised how many people take advantage and buy more products from you.

Conclusion

Not only will selling related items allow you to sell more products to your existing customers, but when people are looking at your auctions and they click “view other items offered by this seller” they will see your related items which increases the likelihood of your auctions being successful and selling for more.
