Welcome back!

EBAY BLOGS – BRAND NEW! Just announced at EBAY LIVE 2006.

If you aren’t “blogging” yet or don’t even know what blogging is then you need to check out eBay’s free blog site.

http://blogs.ebay.com/

A blog is a very simple website usually hosted by a third party (in this case eBay.com) and the content of the site is a simple chronological order of posts (like a journal) on whatever topics are of interest to the author of the blog.

If you have an eBay account then you are literally seconds away from your first blog post (your first online journal entry).

It took me about 45 seconds to set up my eBay blog using one of my eBay accounts. To start, I simply logged in to http://blogs.ebay.com/ using the eBay ID/PW that is already associated with one of my eBay accounts. Next, I filled in a couple of blank fields like “Blog Title” and “description”. After that I wrote and saved my first post in seconds. Simple enough…I’m blogging!

POWER TIP: The cool thing I discovered is that eBay Blogs are showing up in the search engines! This makes them a great way to promote your own website or auctions as long as you don’t abuse the blog policies.

ANOTHER TIP: Try using a NEW eBay account to experiment with the eBay blogs. The rules about what you can and can’t post in your blog are a little unclear still, so rather than put your main eBay account at risk why not just open a new account. All you need is a new email address to open a new eBay account. I’ve written in the past about the many benefits of having multiple eBay accounts – add this new reason to the list.
