Welcome back!

If you run or are thinking of running an eBay store here in Australia, you will interested and maybe somewhat annoyed at this latest action taken by eBay.com.au

We are writing today to let you know about changes we are making to eBay.com.au that are intended to improve the overall eBay marketplace. These changes will further distinguish the roles of core listing formats (online auction, online auction with Buy It Now, and Fixed price) and the Store Inventory Format listings (sellers who subscribe to Stores can list stock which may take longer to sell and which complement core listings). The vast majority of eBay sellers use core listing format only and are not likely to be impacted by these changes. Core listing fees will NOT be increased at this time, except for Featured Plus fees in certain categories. In fact, we’re taking steps to boost core listings exposure on eBay and reduce the exposure of Store Inventory Format listings.

Beginning 22 August 2006, insertion and final value fees for Store Inventory Format listings will be increased and will follow a tiered structure based on price — as they do for core listings. We will also be increasing the subscription cost for Basic Stores.

We are confident the actions we’re taking are the right thing to do for the overall eBay Community. Auction-style listings have made eBay what it is today. In short, these listings are the most successful way for you to sell on eBay and provide the signature shopping experience millions of Australians have come to expect.
